Land Use |

We represented a land owner in obtaining zoning of a large parcel of vacant land for a regional shopping center on Albuquerque’s west side. The land was located in the vicinity of a rural, residentially developed area. We were successful despite strenuous neighborhood opposition.
On behalf of a regional shopping center located in Albuquerque’s northeast heights, we successfully negotiated with the city, state, and adjoining land owners to construct a freeway interchange and develop adjoining roadways. The result was efficient and positive movement of traffic to and from the regional shopping center.
A major Albuquerque developer wanted to put a road through our client’s property to provide access to his adjoining property. Our client, a regional shopping center, objected. By working with the City Council and several other city departments, we successfully negotiated placement of the road to the satisfaction of all parties. |

Real Estate Transactions |

We represented a state university in the sale of 3,000 acres to a master developer. The transaction involved a land exchange with the State Land Office and a subsequent sale to the developer.
Our clients, a state university and community college, aredeveloping a joint educational facility. The transaction involves land acquisition, platting and subdivision issues, and related infrastructure matters.
We represent a community college in a three-way real estate exchange with the City of Albuquerque and Albuquerque Public Schools. The exchange will result in our client obtaining land for a new academic building. The public school system, a party in the exchange, will obtain land on the west side of Albuquerque; and the city will have the opportunity to lease the public school land for a new community recreational facility on the west side of Albuquerque. |
