Professional Experience:

Mr. Viets is a Director in the Albuquerque office. His practice is concentrated in the area of employment and labor law, and he also has experience in business litigation and in defending against lawsuits brought by prison inmates. He has tried cases in both state and federal court, and he has argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Mr. Viets has represented private- and public-sector clients in a wide variety of matters, including responding to EEOC and New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions charges. Mr. Viets advises clients on litigation avoidance, reviews employer policies and handbooks, and presents seminars for other lawyers and for clients on discrimination and wage/hour laws. Before coming to Rodey, Mr. Viets was a law clerk to the Honorable James A. Parker, District Judge for the United States District of New Mexico.  

Mr. Viets is certified by the New Mexico Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Employment and Labor Law.
