Rodey Lawyers Included in Top 25 List

Theresa W. Parrish and Bruce Hall have been selected for inclusion in the list of the Top 25 Lawyers in New Mexico by Southwest Super Lawyers-2013. The Top 25 list includes the lawyers who received the highest point totals in the New Mexico nomination, research and blue ribbon review process.
Ms. Parrish is a director and shareholder in the Rodey Law Firm. She practices in the Litigation Department with an emphasis on employment law and litigation, complex and high risk litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury litigation including catastrophic injuries. She has significant jury and non-jury trial experience. She also has extensive experience in resolving claims through alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration. She has presented oral argument in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Parrish is a New Mexico certified specialist in Employment and Labor Law.
Mr. Hall is a director and shareholder in the Rodey Law Firm. His professional experience includes complex litigation and appeals in many areas (products liability, commercial, employment, environmental and professional liability). He has tried jury and non-jury cases at all levels of state and federal courts in New Mexico. He has been lead appellate counsel in a number of cases which established the parameters of medical malpractice and products liability law in New Mexico and has presented oral argument in the United States Supreme Court. In addition to handling complex litigation, Mr. Hall has a substantial practice in alternative dispute resolution, both mediation and arbitration.

Thirty Rodey lawyers have been selected as Southwest Super Lawyers-2013 for their expertise and experience in particular areas of law. Only five percent of the total lawyers in New Mexico were selected for this honor.

Corporate INTL Magazine Selects Rodey Law Firm as New Mexico’s 2013 Labor Law Firm of the Year

Corporate INTL Magazine has named Rodey Law Firm New Mexico’s Labor Law Firm of the Year for 2013. Rodey was selected for its excellence, expertise and client service in the area of labor law.
Rodey's full-service labor and employment law practice represents local, regional and national employers in a wide variety of employment matters in federal and state courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New Mexico Human Rights Division, the New Mexico Workers' Compensation Administration and other agencies. The team advises clients in non-adversarial aspects of labor relations including employment terminations, early retirement plans, preparation of employee manuals, affirmative action plans, structuring grievance procedures, the Americans with Disabilities Act and preventive counseling. They also counsel clients on employment statutes and human resources factors in business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and plant closures.
In 2010 Rodey’s labor and employment attorneys wrote and published the New Mexico Employment Law Desk Reference. The book was written for New Mexico employers, as a valuable tool for anyone wanting to know about New Mexico-specific employment laws.

Charles Vigil Receives Prestigious Award from University of Michigan Law School

On March 23rd the University of Michigan Law School Latino Law Students Association presented Charles J. Vigil with the J.T. Canales Distinguished Alumni Award. The prestigious J.T. Canales Award honors a University of Michigan Law School alum who has made a significant contribution to empowering the Latino community and who serves as a role model for the next generation of Latino lawyers and leaders. Mr. Vigil received the award at an event which included students, professors, deans, alumni and representatives from many law firms.
Mr. Vigil is the President and Managing Director of the Rodey Law Firm. He practices in the areas of labor and employment law, commercial litigation, products liability and professional liability.
José Tomás “J.T.” Canales was a lawyer, legislator, and founding father of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1899 and was the Law School’s first Latino graduate.
Aaron Viets Receives Highest Rating

Lisa Ortega Receives Highest Rating

Rodey Attorneys Honored by the State Bar

John D. Robb and Robert L. Lucero, attorneys with the Rodey Law Firm, were honored at a special reception on July 13th during the Annual Meeting of the State Bar of New Mexico.
Mr. Robb received the 2012 Distinguished Bar Service Award for providing valuable service and contribution to the legal profession over a significant period of time. A major part of Mr. Robb’s career has been devoted to legal aid both nationally and locally. In May of 2006 the American Bar Association honored Mr. Robb with an award recognizing his early efforts in establishing the Legal Services Corporation and his continued efforts in securing legal aid for the poor.
Mr. Lucero received the 2012 Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award. That award is presented to attorneys who, during the formative stages of their legal careers and by their ethical and personal conduct, have exemplified for their fellow attorneys, the epitome of professionalism. Mr. Lucero is a member of Rodey’s Business Department where his practice focuses on real estate, land use and finance law.
