Rodey Law Firm Elects New Director
February, 2012
Todd E. Rinner was elected to the Board of Directors of the Rodey Law Firm on January 25, 2012.
Mr. Rinner practices in both the Litigation and Business Departments. In the Litigation Department, he specializes in defending corporations, including automotive and heavy equipment manufacturers, in lawsuits involving product liability and general liability matters.
In the Business Department, Mr. Rinner’s practice focuses on intellectual property law, particularly patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law. His practice also includes licensing, unfair competition law and entertainment law. Mr. Rinner is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Rinner received his law degree from The John Marshall Law School, Intellectual Property Law Program graduating with an LL.M. in Intellectual Property, with honors in 2007.

Richard Hatch has joined the Rodey Law Firm. Mr. Hatch is an associate in the Albuquerque office. He practices in the Litigation Department with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense litigation. He also practices in the areas of health law, wrongful death, product liability and general insurance defense. Prior to joining Rodey, Mr. Hatch practiced in the areas of medical malpractice and general insurance defense litigation. Mr. Hatch received his law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2007.

Mr. Blanton received his law degree from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in 2000.

Mr. Hughson is a member of the firm's complex and commercial litigation practice group. He represents clients in state and federal court in matters pertaining to bankruptcy, commercial lending, foreclosure, business disputes, consumer complaints, commercial transactions, and real estate development.
Mr. Hughson received his law degree from University of Michigan Law School in 2000.

Catherine T. Goldberg will be one of this year's recipients of the Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of New Mexico School of Law. She will be honored at the Law School's Distinguished Achievement Awards Dinner on Friday, November 4th at the University of New Mexico Student Union Building Ballroom. Award recipients were selected for their substantial contributions to the UNM School of Law, their distinguished careers and their service to the legal community and the state of New Mexico.

John P. (Jack) Burton has been appointed as the Senior Lawyers Division's delegate to the State Bar of New Mexico's Board of Bar Commissioners. The State Bar is governed by the Board of Bar Commissioners, most of whom are licensed attorneys elected by their peers from designated Bar Commissioner districts around New Mexico.
Mr. Burton is a partner in the Rodey Law Firm, practicing in the firm's Santa Fe office. A member of the firm's Business Department, he has a state-wide, multi-disciplined, commercial practice involving transactions, alternative dispute resolution and litigation in federal and state courts, and legislative representation. He handles complex, commercial disputes, including class action litigation, nationwide discovery, arbitration, mediation and settlement facilitation. Scott D. Gordon has been elected as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Gordon is a partner in the Rodey Law Firm and the Chairman of Rodey's Litigation Department. He is certified as a specialist in both Civil Trials and in Employment and Labor Law, by the New Mexico Board of Legal Specialization. He is also certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil Trial Advocate. He is an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law where he teaches Pretrial Practice. Mr. Gordon also serves on the faculty for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

She represents and advises health care facilities, physicians and other health professionals regarding all aspects of their operations, including credentialing, business planning, compliance, contracting, licensing, regulatory matters, and litigation. Before joining Rodey, Ms. Stone served as general counsel and a deputy cabinet secretary for the New Mexico Department of Health.
The ATCB is a national credentialing body that confers and administers professional credentials to qualified art therapy practitioners. Art therapy is an effective treatment for persons experiencing developmental, medical, educational, and social or psychological impairment. It is practiced in mental health, rehabilitation, medical, educational and forensic settings and diverse client populations.

Rodey Attorney Receives Award From the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association

Charles J. Vigil received the "Outstanding Attorney Award" from the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association. The Award was presented to Mr. Vigil at the Association's annual banquet on September 16th. Mr. Vigil was given the award for his service to the profession and his outstanding work in the American Bar Association, the State Bar association and otherwise. A graduate of University of Michigan Law School, Mr. Vigil is the President and Managing Director of the Rodey Law Firm. He practices in the areas of labor and employment law, commercial litigation, products liability and professional liability.
Founded in 1978, the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association (NMHBA) has become the leading minority bar association in New Mexico. Its Board of Directors is comprised of twenty-four voting members and a student member from the Mexican American Law Student Association at the University of New Mexico School of Law. There are well over two hundred attorney and student members of the NMHBA, all from diverse backgrounds and areas of practice.
