Ms. Chavez is an associate attorney in the Albuquerque office where she is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and more specifically working with the Products and General Liability Practice group. Since beginning her legal career, Ms. Chavez has developed a deep foundation in both appellate and trial-level work through a variety of clerkships and legal roles. She most recently served as a law clerk at the New Mexico Court of Appeals, where she has authored numerous filed opinions addressing complex civil and criminal matters, including public records obligations, administrative appeals, and constitutional issues such as speedy trial rights. She has also taken an active role in mentoring new clerks and externs, providing constructive feedback and helping them meet the court’s high standards for legal analysis.
Earlier in her career, she gained valuable litigation and client service experience through a range of internships and law clerk positions, including work in private practice, a clinical law program, and both trial and appellate courts. Her work has spanned issues such as wrongful death claims, discovery sanctions, evidentiary rulings, and immigration relief. With a strong background in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy, Ms. Chavez brings both intellectual rigor and practical insight to every matter she handles.
