The Rodey Law Firm is accepting resumes for a Payroll Specialist position for itsAlbuquerque office.
Responsibilities include: entering and processing data related to payroll utilizing a computerized system, preparing deposits for retirement plan account, maintaining up to date financial records, analyzing and preparing of general ledger entries, bank reconciling, filing quarterly state labor reports, assisting the Human Resources Director with Affordable Care Act Reporting, and observing confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
Experience/Education: Formal secondary education in Accounting and several years of payroll and general ledger on the job experience with an adept understanding of finance policies and procedures. Must be able to effectively operate office equipment including personal computer, copiers, and 10-key calculator with minimum supervision in order to carry out routine accounting duties.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills: Good command of accounting principles, computer systems and operations. Ability to work with numbers accurately and extensively in a bookkeeping setting. Ability to operate a calculator and make rapid and accurate computations. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them with time constraints. Ability to respond to requests requiring basic financial analysis. Ability to maintain orderly files and records. Ability to recognize matters which require supervisor’s attention and to reliably determine urgency of matters.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone and follow instruction effectively from a diverse group of attorneys, clients and staff and to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
